Welcome to OnCue Casting Call for Background Extras, Featured, Bit Parts and Actor Roles.

BACKGROUND EXTRAS – We are looking for people with NO EXPERIENCE and EXPERIENCED talent to be Background Extras in the Blue Mountains, Sydney and Central Coast Areas. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family as we will need a large number of extras in this production, as it is filming over 6 months.

ACTORS – We are looking for formally trained and experienced Actors for Supporting, Bit Part, Featured, Cast Stand-in and Body Double roles. If you are fresh out of Acting school, we recommend to also apply for the Background Extra roles to gain more experience on set.

ALL ROLES ARE PAID as per the MEAA Rates including all penalty and overtime rates and holiday payouts. These can be found on our website under ABOUT US.

NO APPLICATION FEES – There are no application fees nor do you need to join OnCue or have professional photos to apply for these roles. If you are not yet represented by OnCue Talent, we will set up a temporary guest account for your submissions. OnCue Talent do take a small agency commission from all jobs booked which is the standard industry procedure. Therefore there are no out of pocket expenses. Background Extras a really important part of any Feature Film, TV Series or TV Commercial. This is when a scene really comes to life and look more realistic. As you could imagine a scene in an airport or at a football game. It would not look realistic without all the extras in the Background.

Different productions require different looks, sizes and ethnicities. For example, when casting for Wentworth TV Series we needed ladies who could look rough that could pass as a Female Prisoner. In the picture above you can see some of the background extras for Picnic at Hanging Rock, where female extras needed to have natural coloured hair and gentleman needed slightly longer hair with no modern haircuts.

Sometimes we are requested a natural look, or a bikie or punk look. It could be a scene that requires Kids, Mums, Dads, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. There are roles that come through for all different ages, sizes and looks.

ALL AGES – From Newborns to up to 100 years of age.

ALL SHAPES AND SIZES – From Skinny Minnies to Lumps, Bumps, Warts & All

ALL ETHNICITIES – From Caucasians, African American, Asian, Middle Eastern, Maori, Indigenous and more

It is important to follow the following format to take your photos, As you can see from the photos above and below, you need to copy the same format so you fit in to the casting cart software so you can be submitted to the Casting Director for this role

PHOTO GUIDELINES

• Take your photo up against a white or light coloured wall
• Make sure there is lots of light and that the photo shows your true skin and hair colour.
• Ensure that the camera is portrait (upright, not sideways)
• If you have longer hair, ensure to have your hair out and in front of your shoulders so we can see how long it is and the thickness of your hair.
• Never have your hair pulled back in your photo
• Use minimal makeup or no makeup. We need to see you as natural as possible
• Ensure the photo is taken at eye level
• If you are in a wheelchair or have any disabilities that you can’t stand up, simply let us know more in the YOUR EXPERIENCE box

PHOTOS THAT WILL NOT ACCEPTED

• Photos with coloured background, outside backgrounds or with other people
• No black and white photos
• No Selfies
• Photos taken from above or below angles
• No Photos with Sunglasses, Hats or accessories
• No photos with tongues sticking out or hand gestures
